Dalecarlia Reservoir, Bethesda, Maryland

Within the fenced Dalecarlia Water Treatment Plant grounds, 100+ feet east of the Capitol Crescent Trail (from the “Entering Montgomery County” sign) and several hundred feet north of the intersection of Norton Street NW and Potomac Avenue NW. The easiest way to see this stone is through the fence along the Crescent Trail because the treatment plant is closed to the public. It is also possible to schedule a visit to the stone during normal business hours by calling the Dalecarlia Water Treatment Plant’s main number at (202) 764-2753. Older sources list the stone’s location as 5906 Dalecarlia Place NW, but the “government dwelling” once located at that address has been demolished.
